It was an eventful 24 hours here in the Rockford area. Yesterday we got over 7" of new snow. This brings our total through early-February to over 40", which is about what we get for a full season.
Also last evening, the Illini surprised everybody by beating the Wisconsin Badgers in the Kohl Center. The Badgers have lost 6 Big Ten games at home in the last 7 years, and the Illini have caused 3 of them! This Illini team is not for the faint of heart.
And finally this mornining around 4 AM, we had a magnatude 4.3 earthquake. It was centered around Sycamore which is about 25 miles south of here. No real damage was reported, but it rattled around for less than a minute. I woke up, but didn't realize what had woken me up. So I went back to sleep having thought I dreamed of a loud noise. Gemma slept through the whole thing. The last earthquake we went through was when we were living in Irvine, California back in 1986. We had a 6.0 and a 5.9 quake a week apart that really bounced us around. Those were really loud and it was very obvious that something big was happening.
