Now that the time is getting closer, we have to face the chore of moving...never a peasant thought, from a technical perspective...
I am starting to pack up things tonight and the reality that it is finally going to happen is here. The concept of moving is neat; something I'm looking forward to. But in the mean time, we had to identify what furniture we are taking with us and then what will be left. One of the challenges has been is finding a home for the orphan pieces.
The first of the furniture left tonight when a young lady who works for me came and took the living room sofa and one of our four desks. It turned out that the desk was by far the harder of the two to move since it was made of press-board (think HEAVY) and was in an upstairs bedroom. The sofa was a piece of cake to get out and load in the pickup truck.
The next load (mostly the teak furniture) goes Friday morning to The Carpenter's Place. They have several apartments around the city and periodically need furniture for them. So at least I know that they will be put to good use. The rest of the things will go Tuesday with the Salvation Army. Luckily, our buyers are taking the washer, drier, and freezer in the basement. So those don't move. Then the packers movers go at it next Wednesday.
We are really looking forward to getting all things, people, and cat all in one place. This has been a long five weeks so far. Only two more to go!!
